Matteo Agati is an Italian designer, graduated from the Politecnico di Milano with a master's degree from the Istituto Marangoni. In his work, he develops the concept of "multidisciplinary contamination" after studying and working in Sweden.
In 2015, he returned to Milan to found his own studio and won first prize at the Sit Down! Contest with the Pagh lounge chair for Cappellini. The following year, he won the Rado Star Prize Italy and the Elle Decor contest.
Since 2018, alongside his design work, he has been teaching at several design universities in Milan and is currently a lecturer at the Istituto Marangoni.Over the years, his studio has collaborated with major international design and fashion companies, including Off-White, working closely with Virgil Abloh on the Off-White Home line; Campari Soda, as one of the three designers selected for the 2020 capsule collection.
One of his latest collaborations, with Trussardi Casa, led him to develop part of the brand's new home collection. Currently, Matteo continues to collaborate with companies in the international design scene, focusing not only on product design but also extending his attention to exhibition and interior design, creative consulting, and art direction. This has allowed him to work on installations such as "Culture as a Mirror of Society" at CULT&MUST - Superstudio (2021), "Explore Cappellini Multiverse" for Cappellini (2022), and Mirage Expansion for Mirage (2023).
