HOMENEWS“DESIGN WEARS FASHION”, A SPECIAL PROJECT BY TRUSSARDI CASA FOR THE MILAN DESIGN WEEK “DESIGN WEARS FASHION”, A SPECIAL PROJECT BY TRUSSARDI CASA FOR THE MILAN DESIGN WEEK By LuxuryLivingGroup News, Trussardi Casa 19 April 2023 The Nebula armchairs, designed by Francesca Lanzavecchia for the Trussardi Casa 2023 collection, have been reinterpreted as part of a collective project between the designer and the brand. The unique pieces from the project are displayed in a special installation at Palazzo Trussardi from today until the end of Milan Design Week.Design Wears Fashion creates a juxtaposition and interaction between two separate yet connected fields—design and fashion—through a combined exploration of their respective creative processes, techniques and material studies. Four special objects have been developed through a collaborative approach of disassembling, building, mixing, reinterpreting and reinventing both fashion and design criteria. The Nebula armchair “wears” Trussardi in four special editions. The first one, an armchair with a low backrest, is enriched with a dramatic, super-cozy knit cape, echoing a technique used in the statement knitwear pieces of Trussardi’s Fall-Winter 2022 collection. The second version features a high backrest elegantly draped with beige-toned satin, with a ruching technique inspired by the delicate champagne-hued gowns that featured in the Spring-Summer 2023 fashion collection. The third and last editions are designed on the same base model—a hybrid of the first two that draws from the distinctive asymmetric shape of the iconic Owena bag. One version is finished in black leather with a cocooning chrysalis shape that mimics the organic form of the bag; the other is dressed in a croc-embossed woven jacquard, mirroring the special croc-embossed leather garments seen on the runway of the Spring-Summer 2023 show. Located in Milan’s epicenter alongside La Scala opera house, the recently refurbished and reopened Palazzo Trussardi will be hosting a Design Wears Fashion exhibition, displaying the four special pieces. The installation will be open to the public from 18th to 23rd April, on the occasion of Milan Design Week.
